Oh, sure, everyone thought they were good friends, but Nott couldn't stand him. Too needy.
Of course, it was his parents that insisted that he become part of Malfoy's little circle. It was healthy for purebloods to stick together, they had said. Too few are left.
It wasn't the current state of purebloods that he didn't care about.
It was when Malfoy and him were alone. Malfoy had 'accidentally' touched his hand too many times for his own comfort.
