The children of the great Black family were not born; they were created, sewn, stitch, by stitch, by stitch - woven into tapestry. A line of silver thread unites the beginning with the end, as history is created and destroyed by the simple push and pull of a needles point. But somewhere amongst the silver lines, the names and dates, lies the tears of a mother forced to remove her only sons, stitch, by stitch, by stitch (scorch by scorch). For the children of the great Black family were not born, they were created - not killed, but destroyed, removed, erased.
