I'm trying to write a cover letter. I've got 2 jobs I'm applying for- In-game co-hostess for the Carolina Hurricanes and In-Arena host for the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL). I could pretty much use the same letter for both jobs, since it's the same dealio.. but I don't already have a letter for this (but I have applied for this job before.. somehow didn't save the cover letter?) and I'm so frustrated by the whole scene of not getting calls that I want something to stand out. (of course I tried that with my "press release" letter for the Blue Jackets and that didn't get me anywhere either so I'm just fed up in general.)
WHAT do I have to do to get a call? The Carolina job also wants a demo tape- I've got audio but they want video so I have to make something up.. Any ideas? That one doesn't have to be in until the 26th *my birthday* so I have a few days to think of something. I wasn't going to apply, but the more I think about it, the cooler that job sounds-- it's the perfect combo of acting and hockey! So I have to try.. then I found the Lake Erie one today. (that's in Cleveland, by the way- so it wouldn't even be a ridiculous place to move to)
In other news, I bought 8 items from Borders today- 1 dvd (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), 1 game and 6 books- for $71. Not too bad, says I. They are going out of business (BOO!) so everything was 45% off. (Should have been more, but I think Borders.com is staying open, so they don't have to sell EVERYTHING yet..) Either way, I got some deals on some new books so woohoo!
Time to go try and hash out something like a letter. Blah.
ugh,
books,
job applications,
