oh poop

I had fun at the New Year's party I went to in Pittsburgh. Shenanigans were had.. but we all survived the experience, and after 5 hours of collective remembering, even knew what went on. LOL I didn't have any memory gaps but it was still amusing to find out what else was going on- this party was at a house with 3 levels and people were on all 3, and outside (in the ridiculously WARM weather!) It was cool.

Then I came home last night and watched the Sabres beat the Bruins in a wild game- they ended up winning in a shootout- 7-6. I dunno either. And then the Capitals beat the Penguins in a very rainy Winter Classic so yay for that too! Hahaha in your eye, Sidney Crosby!

But there is some ickiness. Something is wrong with my car. I don't know what- it was driving totally fine all last week for my Ohio adventures and then to Pitt and back, I had no issues. But I ran to the store today and it was being a little growly and kind of jumping when I was accelerating. Then on my way home from the store, the check engine light came on. Then it was flashing for a bit and then solid. Then flashing some more and solid. Again with the growls and the rough running. I have no idea what is up but it doesn't appear to be good. I dropped her off at the mechanic and we'll see what the diagnosis is tomorrow. Yuck. And of course I have to work tomorrow so I have to take my sister's car. blaaah on all that and I don't really have the money to throw into my car right now. I'm still paying off repairs I had done back in May! GROSS.

Speaking of things being broken, I don't think I mentioned it here since I moved most of my hockey rambles, but Derek Roy is out for the season with a torn quad tendon. It sounds really gross and the recovery from the surgery takes 4-6 months so no more Royzie for this year. This is not good for the Sabres because he was our leading scorer and it's not good for me because he's my favorite Sabre! I am legitimately sad about it. It's quite silly, really, but as bad as the boys have been this year (and in case you don't know, it's been pretty ugly), he was having a very good year- he had 35 pts in 34 games- not a bad go.. and now he's done. Yuck. I just hope that he is able to fully recover from his injury and we'll see him again next year. Poor guy. It happened the day before Christmas Eve too- bad timing.

Anyway I should get some sleep. I'm working on a list of small reviews for the 58 books I read last year. I finally cracked the 50 books challenge, so I figured I should say a few words about each book. I'm about halfway done, so expect that post sometime soon. In the meantime, goodnight, friends!

derek roy, car, blah, hockey, life
