Who else watched The Office last night - discuss

May 18, 2007 11:17

I've been emulating an old man this week - going to bed early, can't sleep other nights....ugh.  It's as though I'm still wiped out from last week; Cinco de Drinko, going out, Steph-o's visit with the Spanish fellows, and more going out just exhausted me.  Let's just say chupitos were copiously consumed, wine and champagne drunk without abandon, free-flowing alcohol which were all complemented by fishbowl size beverages.  Conquests were waged (and won) and bra's disappeared as quickly as the dignity of most involved - well I'm sure dignity will be back for another losing streak this weekend.  The most productive I've been this week is an attempt at rearranging my room, scheduling an interview, and attending Round 3 of another interview.

Technically though I shouldn't be going on any interviews.  My bosses asked me if I was interviewing last week and I said, "Yes."  They questioned why and my only real reason is salary, the other being boredom.  When asked if I was offered a pay raise would I "stop this nonsense" (going on interviews) and I said I would.  Well, looks as though I've lied since I took the pay raise and am still looking.  Well half-looking really, I think I'd move only if the difference was a few grand.

As for my room, well I rearranged my bed to be on the horizontal wall in front of the window.  This now means I desperately need curtains.  Hopefully I'll find time to shop for some because it's ICFF weekend.  The International Contemporary Furniture Fair is rolling into town and there are parties to attend in Meatpacking, galleries to visit across the city, and I need to find something to wear for Monday.  I'm attending a party at Moura Starr, one of the dealers from work, and need to look effortlessly put together aka fabulous.

I saw Rufus on Wednesday.  Yes, Rufus.  He was performing at Barnes and Noble at Union Square and then signing CDs.  It was immensely crowded and he sang a few new and old songs, though 14th Street was not one of them.  I forgot how stunningly queer he is.  I cannot wait for the concert.

I'm thinking I need a part time job to fill in time on the weekends.  Really that's code for I'd like to rake in a little extra cash.  Should I head back to the world of retail? - thoughts?  Lastly, I think I'm a volunteer for the NEWFEST which should be exciting.
