Everything just works and flows perrrfectly. The progression of their relationship is so well paced and believable. I love the way you bring it full circle with the 'for the record' line. Awesome
And I particularly loved this line

at the end of the night, in the way he talked to her, like she was more than just some woman he worked with. Instead, a welcome reprieve.

Oh Casey. That whole idea of him being just a little too warn and tired to keep up his guard is SO Casey. And they way you write their conversations illustrates that wonderfully. Plus I love that what goes unspoken between them is almost more important than what is spoken.
This is perfect and achey and I have to go read it a million more times.

I just started watching Chuck last week and then as per usual I decided that I'm a Sarah/Casey shipper. I'm quite surprised at the lack of popularity for this ship but then again I'm not seeing as I always go for the "odd" couple. Anyhoodle, I thought this fic was absotively LOVELY.

“I figured you’d request a new partner the minute the opportunity presented itself,” he remarks, some time later.

I like non-canon ships better than canon, at least I tend to lately, so I totally understand. I really wish this ship was more popular though -- it's probably in my top 3 favorite ships right now.
