You know, she used to be the heart of this whole operation. Her and George, they used to be the heart. Now she’s the cold bitch who left her husband and she has no recourse because said husband is lying in a hospital bed with a gunshot wound.

I hate that this is who Izzie became. It rings true and it hurts.

This was wonderful. I'm looking forward to Grey's fic from you this hiatus!

I agree with you on that. The Izzie who left this season was not the one who walked in during Season 1, that's for sure. But I guess we all change, you know?

I'm glad you liked this hun! Thank you! And there will definitely be a ton from me this hiatus, I can promise you.

But this Izzie came back... remember? She came back and she wanted to fix things, and it wasn't cold and bitchy at all. She was desperate and terrified and she came back to fix things.

Alex (rightly or wrongly) sent her away...

She's not the Izzie from season one. But that's probably because the Izzie from season one hadn't been diagnosed with an horrific cancer. Her best friend hadn't been killed. Her fiance hadn't died in her arms. She wasn't questioning her career. She hadn't married someone on a whim with the false belief that she was dying. While I don't agree with season six Izzie, I do understand her.

(but that could be the clinical psychologist in me coming out... so, feel free to ignore! - just needed to get that off my chest. I think I will be forever defending her! It's almost an instinct.)

Unfortunately, I think a lot of who Izzie became wasn't dictated by story (because it's completely understandable that she's not Suzie Q Baker any more, after all she's been through). I think who Izzie became was dictated by Katherine Heigl wanting nothing to do with the show any more. It's sad...

I don't follow the actors in their real lifes at all... maybe that's why I was more immune to it. How KH is alleged to have behaved meant nothing to me. I think that might be why I can still love Izzie to bits.

I don't really follow it, but I know she wanted out of her contract and wasn't really willing to wait.

Still- that moment in your icon- that moment still kills me. I still love that Izzie. I still love *Izzie*, I just think the way she left the show and SG...I just pretend it didn't happen, lol.

I just pretend it didn't happen, lol. And that, ladies and gentleman, is why we write fic!!!

You should write fic where it didn't happen!
