It's so weird for me to read this because I've never thought of them in any way other than he's her sister's almost husband (which I weird, I guess, because there was that thing in the bar all those years ago) but I read it because it's you and this is soooooo good.

It's well written (of course), and the Alex/Meredith subtext is spectacular (naturally; you are the on that converted me) and this:

“No,” she murmurs, threads her fingers through his as she pulls him towards her room and away from his.

(By this time, the only reminder left of Meredith in his room is a framed post-it above the bed; there are certain things Lexie can’t deal with.)

Is just so, so good.

I never really thought of it either but now? I could kind of go for it. I don't like canon's rules. I tend to ignore them. Hence all the Alex/Meredith.

Your Alex/Mer is literally my crack. IDK. I don't think I'd ever read them by anyone else (because, quite honestly, I watch the show and see their scenes and think in my head 'I wonder if she'll write that') and I'm torn between whether I want them canon or not. I do, in a way, because Derek has turned into such a pompous asshole and Alex and Mer are basically the same person. And then I don't because Shonda would no doubt fuck it all up and their characters in the process.

There's a few people who have done them pretty well, but far too few for my taste. Thing is, as much as I love them, canon would probably ruin them. And I kind of like the friendship we get on the show because it keeps stringing me along and gives me just enough ideas to write. If they actually had it on the show? I don't think I'd be writing it nearly as much.

But Derek is a pompous asshole. Though I don't necessarily agree with 'turned into' so much as 'pretty much always was'. Guess who I'm not a fan of? lol

I've been watching old episodes on Lifetime and I kind of see how it was always there -- Derek's assholishness, that is. I think I was just distracted by the hair? But it really got that way after he became 'chief'. Like when he was freaking out on Teddy because she sneezed and he had a nervous breakdown because OH GEE, I'M NOT INFALLIBLE. GO FIGURE.

Have you seen last week's episode? I want your thoughts concerning my OTP and Alex/Lexie... I think I could go either way?

I think for everyone it was the hair. But I never liked the hair and so the spell was broken for me. But, yeah, he's progressed to insane assholishness nowadays. It would be humorous except I want to slap him
