Just all the little details in this are too perfect - the two types of burnouts, him seeming a little less than human, them respecting each other just a little less! And just this whole section:

Casey doesn’t tell her anything that should make her jump into bed with him, no revealing stories, and she does her job just as well as she did the first day - the first minute - she met him.

And yet.

“Agent Walker,” he says, when he leaves, and there is no warmness but there is the absence of complete disregard.

Good god this made me nervous. There was a day where I wouldn't write anymore than two fandoms. And I just started watching this show. I'm not even past 2.04 yet. So, yeah, Wikipedia, I thank thee for background info.

For some reason, when she called him a burnout that stuck with me. And so I guess this fic was always bound and determined to happen.

Anyways, I'm like vibrating with excitement that you actually liked it. Because this? Was like so much fun to write.
