(2) sounds awful, or at least the politics part. I live in a very Republican area, so unfortunately I bite my tongue a lot when it comes to talking politics. At least it's been that way in the past.

I rarely bite my tongue, even though my father always jumps down my throat, but it was mixed company to a degree and so I had no choice.

Aw...I'm not a fan of talking politics really. I try to stay up to date but it can get really heated in family discussions.

I used to not be, but I got more into it once I started disagreeing with my father and needing facts to back myself up.
