[Seems Gin's had enough of sneaking around town and decided to take a bit of time to himself. He's just outside Rangiku's makeshift home in the forest, his book set aside. He's read through it several times, but it doesn't mean he trusts it to be true. The little silver-haired boy is at least dressed for the cold weather now, in a heavy jacket and new shoes over some of his old clothes. He seems to be practicing, holding his hands out in front of him and closing his eyes, flickers of light appearing between his fingers. It takes a while, but he reigns it in, forming a little ball of light, Reiatsu. Seems the book was right about that at least. It's a lot harder to control anything here and he can't do it near as well as he remembers.
After a few minutes, he shakes his hands, the ball vanishes and he cups his hands together, trying to warm his cold fingers. He tries it again moments later, this time forming the ball much faster and brighter than before. As he releases it, taking careful aim through the forest, it strikes a tree a far way off, out of sigh of the book. It seems to have singed his fingers a bit, but he rubs them on the jacket, satisfied to be able to do that much at least.
He leans back against their tiny home, stomach growling loudly. Was Ran still around? Maybe he could throw something together with the food they gathered.
With that, he picks up his things, the book last, though he frowns a little when he sees it was open. He shuts it, carrying everything inside.]
