This new world I'm building for the d'Libre stories is shaping up well, but it's complicated enough that I find that I am in need of a map. Which is so not one of my skills. Drawing anything beyond basic stick figures is not in my skills set. Then I remember, I know somebody! Well, lots of somebodies actually, but one of them has a degree in maps and mapping. Maybe he can help me.
We talked briefly yesterday, and he got the gist of what I needed: basic outline of the continent, with major land features and country borders. Right now, I want this for my reference to write the stories, but I promised him full credit, should it be used in any book. He said he's been paid for maps before so he is a professional cartographer, he just doesn't do it for a living.
I am looking forward to what he comes up with. If he okays it, I may even scan it onto the blog to show off his work. After you see just how great he is at this, if any of you are interested in making a map for your world, I can get you in touch.
I'm so happy I have talented friends. :D
