My court appeal resulted in: Because you have no record, we will cut the ticket in half= $50.
I said no. I then had to pay $20 to meet w/ the judge.
The asshole cop wrote on the ticket that I was speeding in a breakdown lane going 40-50 w/ no flashers etc.
I couldn't go 40mph because the brakes were STUCK ON, I had my lights on... the cop wrote that as I said it because he was a jerk, although i didn't say that! haha He assumed I was just driving in the BDL. Either way, the magistrate and some cop w/ him NEVER looked at my info, wouldn't listen to me and just repeated that you can't drive in the BDL and that there was only 1. I said, no there is 2 and one if for driving as there are signs and I wasn't going to pull over and wait for help because I had NO cell phone on me (I didn't say this but, why the hell would I wait for a cop when this asshole cop gave me a $100 citation when I told him I needed help!)
So I'm going to fight this because I can even though it cost me $20 thus far. I'm hoping for an appeal and my $20 back in Nov. I discovered that I still have a few issues w/ courthouses too. That's where we had to deal w/ John Herrin and when I dealt w/ nasty scrutiny from my classmates after being dropped/quitting the "cool crowd" at school because I started getting depressed. I was on trial as the Princess from Princess and the Pea and found not guilty, but I sat alone and even when I was pronounced Not Guilty, an ex friend said, "Can we know what her sentence was even if she had been found guilty?"
I talked to her in college. She met w/ a bad end and I'm fine. Still though, I can see why people hate cops. They just seem to make life worse, especially if you are a normal person w/ normal issues. Most people would just pay the now $50 fine but I'm sure as hell not! ;-)
