*bawls*

After I killed myself studying for finals, I decided to finish re-watching Chrno Crusade. (It's been quite some time since I last saw it.) I watched episodes 20-24, the end. I don't know why I did it to myself, because I knew what was coming.

I bawled my freakin' eyes out. Yeah. I did. Cried like a baby. Needed tissues and the whole nine yards. Same thing happened the first time I watched the series too. So technically I should have known better. Only anime series I've ever seen that has been able to do that to me. (And by this point, I've seen a LOT of anime.) But I'm not afraid to fess up to it! Only a real man can admit he cries! (Er, in this case, a real woman, but I feel like that doesn't say much...)

Seriously, though, that ending is a killer. (I'll keep this spoiler free, so no worries.) The things Rosette says to Chrno on the porch swing, when she's so afraid... That's what finishes me off. That and the sun. And the watch. And the look on Chrno's face. Aw god, I'm gonna cry again. Maybe in this case I'm just a huge wuss, but I'd like to think that the series was well executed enough that it deserved a good cry.

Anime seriously needs to stop making the toughest of us break down with its depressing-as-hell dramatic scenes. We'll fight the tears! WHO'S WITH ME?! (Who's with me in that Chrno Crusade made them cry?) ...Then again, my personal "decree," you could say, is that if an anime can make me cry it must be pretty damn good. Which Chrno Crusade is. It was also a good form of procrastination.

More studying for finals, anyone?
