CRISIS CORE...
and my fangirling.
**warning, lots of CAPSLOCK & spoilers :: don't read if you plan on playing this game.**
so as most of you may know, i've finished CRISIS CORE & i think it's like the coolest game on earth - despite its uber flaws.
first off, the graphics are AMAZING!!! keep in mind, that this is a game for a PORTABLE gaming system, the UMD does not hold much - it's tiny! but if anybody here has seen ADVENT CHILDREN, CRISIS CORE will look very familiar! i think most of my excitment comes from the uber gorgeousness that is CRISIS CORE! even if you're anti-videogame... anti-japanese culture... anti-animation... anti-whatever... this game will probably leave you in awe. don't believe me? check out the introduction video down below. there aren't really any spoilers in the video since it just introduces the main character, ZACK. oh yeah, the lame quality youtube video does the actual graphics NO JUSTICE!!! ^^;;

okay, maybe i should stop talking about how pretty the game is and give it a decent review... i'll try to be as object yeah, right! as possible.
so the story: it was... kinda weak. any FF VII fan will know what CC is all about. it's the events leading up to CLOUD's journey to save the world. but rather than focusing on CLOUD's past, we get the story of 4+ other characters. our hero is ZACK *squee* (that would be the guy in the middle of my header with the giant sword). the battle system is much like KINGDOM HEARTS, if anybody has played that. you go around and button smash. anyways, he's the hero and you get a party of one. the other important players are ANGEAL, SEPHIROTH and GENESIS (aka GACKT -- who looks freaking awesome as GENESIS RHAPSODOS).
anyways, long story short... the three uber SHINRA SOLDIER 1st class guys start going through some issues and 2/3 goes crazy. (or to quote teh hyde BAAAAHZAAAHK!) and of coure it's up to ZACK to find out what's going on and save the world and SHINRA -- which of course, as we find out in VII, is rather corrupted. but it was interesting to see SHINRA portrayed as good guys - hell, there are even fanclubs w/in the game for certain 1st class SOLDIERS. XD
moving on -- so that's the story. typical, right? friends go crazy, you save the world.
so my issues with the game... TOO SHORT! there are A LOT of side quests/mission. i got through 20% and had beaten the game under 20 hours. that's a shoooooooort game. the character development fell a little short in certain areas. it would have been nice if they had cut out some of the side missions and made the story-lines longer... or more gameplay. yeah, more story would have been loooooooooooooved. xD
ooh, crap. i think i've got less to write than i've got in my head. XD apparently, i don't hold things too well in my neurons. >.> i'll just go and talk about the ending then... which was the BEST THING about the game anyways.

ZACK FREAKIN' DIES!!!! T_____________T
okay, so i knew that was gonna happen. i've played VII - i've paid attention to the story, i knew he was gonna die but OH MY FEEECKING GAWD! it was one of the most DEPRESSING, OVERDRAWN, BRUTAL deaths EEEEVAAAAAAAA!!!
okay, so there's a gorgeous cut-scene of ZACK carrying CLOUD out (he got MAKO poisoning) and he sets CLOUD DOWN. as ZACK walks off to face the army, CLOUD regains consciousness and reaches out to ZACK... TOO LATE!!!
we see ZACK approach a zillion soldiers with guns and missiles aimed at him. so you fight for a few minutes, take out as many soliers as you can -- after a bit, short scene with him getting worn out. then you fight again. however YOU'RE SLOW AND LIMPING!!! T___T so they're shooting you as you're slowly attacking them until you fall. you see the soldiers walk up to you in a 1st-person view and BAM BAM BAM!!! they shoot you right in the fecking face. >.>
and then GORGEOUS CUT-SCENE AGAIN!!! it's CLOUD. he finds ZACK dying and gets ZACK's sword as proof of ZACK's existance. *sobs* gorgeous cut scene with rain and tears and blood. WAAAAH!!!
so after all the crying from CLOUD & me -- okay, so i didn't literally cry, but i was totally O___o you get more beautiful cut scenes with FF VII's INTRO IN THE NEW GRAPHICS! *sigh*
okay, so that was totally poorly written. i missed A LOT of details believe it or not. XD but i'm tired now. :P i just wanted to come on here and spaz about. :P and i did.
