so yesterday...

mrs. ali wasn't really there... and guess who our substitute teacher was...

SANTA!!!

ooooooooooooomg!!! so this huge guy dressed up as Santa (well, he claimed to be Santa himself) walks up to the classroom, with a key, and unlocks the door. (this is totally ironic, since Mrs. Ali is Moslem... XD)

i'm gonna put this behind a cut, it might be long...

so we all pile into the classroom and the kids were asking me if "Santa" was a sub. i told them yeah, apparently so. and they just kinda gave me the O___O WTF face. then i go introduce myself to Santa...

ME: hi, i'm tina.

SANTA: hello! i'm santa!!! HO HO HO!!! what do YOU want for christmas?!?!?! HO HO HO!!!

ME: ummmm... i'm the student/teacher.

SANTA: oh right! HO HO HO! mrs. ali told me all about you!!! HO HO HO. after attendence, you can have the class. HO HO HO!

ME: thanks... i knew i should have dressed up in my green elf suit today! *runs off*

SANTA: HO HO HO!!!

and so i taught... it was, interesting.
it was the last class of the last day before their winter break and the "testosterone corner" (aka, the back 3 rows full of jocks - and yes, another sub teacher had named them that), was as rowdy and restless as ever. however, the girls and a few of the boys were as angelic as ever (except for the one girl that fell asleep! XD).

anyways, so i did a lesson on Positive Psychology - focussing on goals, success, and happiness. thank goodness it was an INTERACTIVE lesson plan... otherwise they would have all died on me. XD mostly had discussions about THEM, that way, it kept them focused on me and interested'ish. unfortunately, they were ready to bolt like 1/2 way into the class... XD and unfortunately for them, mid-way into class and after like a zillion interruptions, i was fed up -- not to mention the first few rows of kids pretty much told me that i was too nice... XD!!! with santa sitting in the back corner, watching me (not doing anything to discipline the kids -- which, i guess, made it a learning experience for me... mar!), i just sucked it up and more or less told the kids in the back to just zip it.

*flashback*

*stops talking* tick tock... tick tock...
*kids still talking in the back*

*smacks pen against overhead* (it really does make a loud sound!)

ME: you guys are released at 2:40pm. that's in about 40 minutes... here's the thing, even if i finish early, i'm not letting you out early. you're stuck with me, like it or not. keep on interrupting, and it's not going to make time go by faster. each minute will last just as long. if i finished early, i'd be done... and i could leave, but you guys would have to sit in here and wait until class is really over. zone out if you want, but stop interrupting me. i'm not mrs. ali, but i am filling in FOR her... and there are people who are trying to learn today's stuff. so please, be nice. thank you.

mar! then i finished up class... with 10 minutes to spare. and yes, they did still interrupt class quite a few times, but less frequent, thank goodness. anyhoo, with ten minutes to spare -- the kids started to pack up.

ME: hold it. got ten minutes... told you, you're not getting out early. :P santa? if you would...

*SANTA plays some psych documentary video*

IN MY MIND: MUAHAHAHAHA! suckers, you're still here!

anyhoo, so then class ends... and they piled out.
a few of the girls told me WHOOO HOOO, and that i could have been *even* more mean to the guys -- but oh well. ;)

and Santa liked my presentation, nonetheless...
one complaint, and those of you who know me, will know exactly what he "criticized" about, TOO SMALL HANDWRITING! XD said i handled the kids too nicely too. XD! but i did it well -- just write bigger. hahahaha.

anyways, so then i asked him who he really was...

i'm kris kringle! HO HO HO. but i teach math when i'm not delivering presents. i also do a lot of subbing for teachers. those boys back there, they wouldn't like me if i had them on a daily basis. we would very much butt heads! but you handled them. good job. and just to warn you, there are worse - much worse. just telling you what i've experienced. anyhoo, good job and good luck.

ME: thanks. have a nice holiday and have fun traveling the world. tell the reindeers i said hi.

SANTA: will do! HO HO HO!!! have a happy holiday yourself, HO HO HO!!!

thus ending my day at the high school. *dies* i'm so not cut out for teaching long-term! XD

soooooooooo yesterday's song wasn't all that holiday'ish. as skin_scene ever so eloquently had put it, it sounded like smex. XD so i'm gonna put up two songs, to kinda make up for yesterday's. i really should listen to what i put up. xP

mar! mediafire just died on me... but i'll edit this post my two songs as soon as i can access my files. xP
