Josh is doing just fine.

I unfortunately had to leave him during his pre-op yesterday so that I could go to work, but his mom had come up earlier that morning to be with him, so I didn't feel TOO bad. He got there at 12:20 and didn't get into surgery until almost 4, due to some surgery in the morning having taken longer than expected, and thus pushing everything else in the day back.

I left around 3 to go to work, and left work around 9. We were hoping to get out of there by 7 or 8. Problem was that for the first two hours or so that I was there, I was either doing nothing or helping put foxes in a pre-release cage. The latter thing was REALLY cool, I have to say. I got to hold a fox! :D

Josh's mom called me sometime after 5 to let me know Josh was out of surgery and doing fine. It turns out they couldn't salvage what was in there, so they removed half his meniscus. In reality I think he's happier they had to do that, since that means he'll just be on crutches for a few weeks and then he can return to sports and all that stuff, he'll just have arthritis problems later. If they had repaired it he would have been looking at a few months of rehab.

Whether or not we go down to the shore for Josh's bday is still up in the air. He was feeling fine last night, but I think it hit him a little more this morning. When I woke up at 6:30 he had come out to the living room to put his ice thing on his knee because it was sore. If we do head down, I'm thinking it's going to be on Saturday, not today. Partially because I don't want to drive tonight and partially because I think it will be good for him to have the whole day to decide how "up to it" he's feeling.

In other news, I take my GRE in 6 days. I haven't studied a lick for it, except for taking two practice exams that were exactly the same. I should get on that....
