update, anyone?

So I realize I haven't had a meaningful update in over a week. This is likely due to several different things, though mostly Little I and the fact I've been spending a lot of nights over at Josh's.

So here's the shortened (but still rather long)

Last weekend was my "birthday weekend," since my birthday fell on a Wednesday this year and I was flying out to Tampa really early the following morning, which meant celebrating on Wednesday proper wasn't going to happen. Instead, I made sure my birthday celebrating lasted all weekend. On Friday night, Jere came over for pizza and cake (funfetti, which Josh made himself) and we watched Saved. Afterward, we went out Rock n' Bowling, which was a blast. Jere got so frustrated with how he was bowling after a bit that he would grab my 10 pound ball (which we called the "rage ball" when he used it) and just chuck it down the lane. The only downside was that Josh nearly sprained his ankle (again) during our last round, but he was feeling better later. We dropped by Jere's place for 5 minutes to grab Saw, and then went back to Josh's and watched it. Jere took off after a bit, and Josh and I ended up calling it a night before the movie was over.

On Saturday we watched the rest of Saw. I have to say, the twist at the end was NUTS! I just wish they had more of an ending with the doctor, even if it only came during Saw II or something. He also gave me one of my gifts that day: Lady and the Tramp on DVD. I had wanted to rent it ever since it came out on DVD, but the video store nearby didn't have it any time we went down there. So he bought it for me. We watched it after we got back from dinner at Mario and Luigi's (which, despite it's name, is actually a really good Italian place, not in any way affiliated with Nintendo).

At my request, Josh took me out for breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning. We spent the rest of the day doing a whole lot of nothing, which was okay by me. :)

The first part of last week was semi-busy: Pre-Vet Club meeting, Little I on Tuesday and Wednesday, and fermenter feedings made for late nights. Wednesday was officially my birthday, and Josh got me roses and took me out for dinner at Baby's, my favorite burger joint. I came home, packed, and headed over to Josh's to get three hours of sleep.

Thursday I left B&E for Tampa. Met my mom at the airport, and later we went to tour Big Cat Rescue. It was a beauitful place. They have over 100 cats, and their facilities are just amazing. After our tour, mom and I went to the mall nearby and found me a beautiful dress and shoes for the Ag College Ball/Spring Fling going on later this month. I'm so excited: this is the first "semi-formal" thing Josh and I have ever been to together. On Friday, I spent the whole day at the sanctuary, following around an intern and getting a feel for what my day-to-day would be like there. It's hot, the hours are long, and it's unpaid, but it's still a pretty amazing experience to be around all those big cats all day. My actual interview was on Saturday, and I think it went pretty well. I'm going to be hearing from them in two to three weeks, so we'll see what happens. I'm still not entirely sure what I'll do if I get more than one offer.

My flight home was a mixture of good and bad. On the good side of things, when I checked in, the guy at the counter asked "Would you like to get home sooner?" and without even hesitating I said "YES!" So instead of having to fly from Tampa to Washington to Philly to State College, I flew directly into Philly and then to State College, getting me in around 9:30 instead of midnight. However, when I got to State College, my brand new suitcase (purchased that very day!) had a broken zipper, and my shampoo had exploded. Luckily, I didn't lose anything and my shampoo only got on two shirts and a dirty pair of jeans. I had a very late dinner with Jere, and then spent the night with the cat over at Josh's. Josh is currently in Lancaster with his dad, since they're planning on going to the Phillies home opener tomorrow. When I got to Josh's place, he had cleaned his room for me, as well as writing me a very cute (if terribly cheesy) love letter. :)

Speaking of Josh not being here, I find myself rather... directionless? It's odd, I feel like I don't know what to do with myself. Usually, I'm only alone when I need or want to be, such as when I'm studying for a test or when Josh is just getting on my nerves. But since he's just not around, it's a very weird feeling. He said he was feeling the same way when I wasn't here, and I thought he was nuts. But now I know exactly what he was talking about. I miss him a lot. I don't really hang out with anyone else, except Jere. And Jere's at work! Then again, I've always been the type of person to be close to one or two people. In grade school, it was my friends Michele and Emily. In high school (the better parts of it) it was Paola and Brian. Now, it's Josh and Jere. Not saying that Paola and Brian aren't still great friends of mine, it's just that they're 4 hours away.

This upcoming week is going to be absolute insanity. First off, I'm working with Bonnie every night this week except Friday. And then:
Monday - BMB 221 exam, An Sc 423 quiz
Tuesday - An Sc 213 exam
Wednesday - Mirco 201 exam
Thursday - Bio 222 exam
Friday - spending 2 hours at the barn prepping Bonnie for Little I
Saturday - Little I, and my parents are coming up

Essentially, this means that every night, I will be going from class to the barns, from the barns to dinner, and from dinner straight home to study for the next test. Oh, and did I mention I think I'm coming down with something?

And then after this week, it's only three weeks until finals. Holy. Crap.
