So, I know I said I was going to try to update more often, and then more sort of... didn't. Truth is, I've started a few posts, and then abandoned them because I either felt they were uninteresting, or ended up second-guessing my wording so much that it just wasn't worth it.

But anyway, here's a minor life update.

The move out of Florida has been postponed indefinitely. Although we both continue to hate the weather, other concerns take precedence, and trying to leave the state just isn't as important. Instead, when the lease is up here in December, we're going to leave Bradenton and go back to Tampa yet again. As much as we love the area, and this apartment in particular, we're just too far away from the things we really need to be close to.

First of all, we're trying to get the press up and going, which takes a lot of effort and money. We've gotten all the outside submissions for the first anthology, which just leaves us finishing up our own contributions. That'll be in print at the end of October. Saundra and Kris's first novella will be available in ebook in August, and their first novel will be out around the end of the year. (Being in Tampa vs Bradenton really doesn't factor into this point, it just makes it that much harder to save up for a long distance move.)

Secondly, Saundra and I have been discussing starting a family. Given her PCOS, this is going to be an involved process, and we'd like to be able to keep her current OB/GYN since Saundra likes her so much. Also, there's the matter of wanting to be near family when a baby comes rather than across the country. Tied to that is the issue of being able to eat healthier and take better care of ourselves. Having access to good quality whole foods, fresh local produce, and lean meat choices is tough in the smaller town. Tampa would give us access to Fresh Market for beef and fish and produce, and also to the natural food stores for things like ostrich and bison and the bulk whole foods.

And thirdly, we've met another poly couple through OKCupid who live in Tampa. At the very least, they're already really good friends that are fun to hang out and watch movies with. But it definitely seems like there's the potential for more than that to develop, and both Saundra and I would like to be able to explore that potential. Living in Tampa would make it much easier for us to get together rather than being 45-60 minutes apart.

That's really the only major thing going on right now. Work continues well, still in love with the working from home. Dogs and cats are all doing well. My migraines are as bad as ever, but I'm coping as best I can. Having a lot of fun doing some AU role-playing in Mixed Muses with the Doctor having Thirteen from House as a companion. Kooky stuff.

'S about all I can think of at the moment that's going on with me. I have no ending for this post, so I take a small bow.

life stuff, hey look i'm using tags
