Mercedes had finally lost it. Did she really just walk out of Ms. Pillsbury’s office after turning down the lead role she had always wanted, even if it meant sharing it with Rachel Berry? And before that, had she walked out on the only club that she truly loved being a part of? She stopped and looked herself down, assessing her surroundings. Yep, she definitely just gave up everything she had wanted since her freshman year of high school. Never had she acted so rashly without thinking about repercussions. Shane was definitely a boost for her confidence, but perhaps he was just making things harder for her in the end.

His head was spinning.
As Sam walked down the familiar hallways of William McKinley High School, everything seemed unreal. After his dad got the new job far, far away from Lima, he thought he would never see his friends from New Directions ever again. The move back to Ohio was sudden. He had started the school year already when his father shared the good news with the family; the company was so impressed with his work that they had promoted him! The only downside to the job was that they had to move back to Ohio. After his parents spent a month looking at houses, they finally settled on one that happened to be in the Lima School District. His siblings were excited to have a chance to go back to their old schools. Sam, however, wasn’t so sure how he felt about going back after Mercedes promptly dumped him immediately after finding out he was leaving…
Yet there he was, walking down the same hall and to the same locker he had used the previous year. Unlike his brother and sister, he hadn’t called any of his friends to let them know he’d be back. Shaking his head, he put his unneeded books in his locker and walked to the choir room. Taking a deep breath, he opened the door, and took a step inside to the unknown.

1. A fic (350+ words) - Years

A year ago, Kurt first laid eyes on Blaine.
A year from now, Kurt will be in college in New York to pursue his dreams, and Blaine will be into his senior year of high school.
Five years from now, Kurt will have just finished his degree in musical theatre and will have a job in a chorus off-broadway. He will be sharing a tiny one-bedroom apartment with Blaine, who will be in his senior year of college studying to become a music teacher.
Ten years from now, Kurt will be touring as the lead with his Tony winning, self-written and produced musical “Fabulous”. Blaine will be taking a break from teaching at his school in the suburbs of New York City to play the other male lead in his boyfriend’s traveling production, traveling all over the United States and even a couple cities in Canada.
Fifteen years from now, Kurt Hummel-Anderson and Blaine Anderson-Hummel will be celebrating the purchase of their first home, Kurt’s eight Tony awards, Blaine’s doctorate, and the second birthday of their adopted baby girl, Rose Elizabeth.
Twenty years from now, Kurt will become a critically acclaimed Broadway critic for the New York Times, taking care of Rose during the day, and sometimes taking her with him to see the shows he’s reviewing during the weekends. Blaine will be teaching at The Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College. He will return home to his family every night, kissing his husband hello and helping to cook dinner for their little family.
Forty years from now, Kurt and Blaine will celebrate their twenty fifth wedding anniversary. They will have a huge party and their friends and family will travel from all over to celebrate the joyous occasion with them. They will still maintain their professions, each equally happy in their endeavors. They will be putting their daughter through her last year of college.
But for now, it is the present. Kurt and Blaine are in high school, together. They sing in glee club together, visit the Lima Bean, and spend every free second they have with each other. They know the year will be over before they know it. For now, they’re just trying to make each moment magical.
