Time to breathe

The title of this entry may seem overdramatic, but words can't describe the sense of relief when I finished my last day of work yesterday before our upcoming Canada and California adventure. It's been hard going lately and having three weeks to not think about work-related garbage is sheer bliss!

I'm dreaming of palm trees, warm sunshine, days at Disneyland and boardwalks. I am looking forward to seeing my family, friends and my cat. Is it bad that I'm also excited to try out so many restaurants that have popped up in Vancouver since I left? Here in Gloucester, there isn't the sheer amount of variety that exists in places like London. I really do think with my stomach...always have!

I had a productive morning of Spring cleaning which felt nice, but there's a heck of a lot more in this humble aboad that I would like to purge. All in good time.

Easter long weekend is coming up and we're likely going to spend it geocaching, prepping for the trip and having dinner with the huz's folks. I just wish the weather felt a bit more Spring-like. I'm still wearing toques, scarves and my heavy jacket!

Other random stuff and things under the "currently" category...

...watching: I just finished Ugly Delicious on Netflix which was equal parts interesting and mouth watering. Also became obsessed with Queer Eye--a reboot I can really get behind!

...reading: Tomboy Survival Guide by Ivan Coyote. It has been too long since I have read anything by a Canadian author, let alone an author from British Columbia. I'm enjoying the book so far.

...craving: A burger from Holee Cow. The one thing that was really missing in this area was a place to get a really good burger and they have filled that void. A wee bit pricey, but worth it. I hope we can go there this weekend. Heh hehhh.

Anyway, here's hoping Pete and I jump across the pond without contracting an illness on the long-haul flight (I bought Wet Wipes to sanitize EVERYTHING) and that the jet-lag is not so fierce (dream on).

Bon voyage!
