Things that I've thought about posting but never did:
1. It's a Small World Dept.: A couple weeks ago, I was out at a bar and I was talking to a basically random dude [the friend of the host of the trivia night I go to every week], and it turns out he used to [we're talking 2001-2002ish] work with a girl I dated in college. And she's married now, and living in Belgium. Wacky.
2. I [finally] posted a
ton of pictures on flickr. Dating back to mid-June when Crystal & Amanda were in town.
3. It's a Small City Dept.: Yesterday on the A Train I ran into my freshman/sophomore college roommates. That is, we were roommates freshman/sophomore years, not that they're still freshmen/sophomores. Haven't seen/talked to them in pretty much forever. They are unmarried and don't live in Belgium. Bushwick, though, which isn't so far off.
4. School starts soon. Gah. Kind of feel like I've wasted my whole vacation, aside from a few fun trips at the beginning. The thing is, I don't know what I could have been doing to not waste it; there's not a pile of things I regret not doing or didn't get to do or anything. I've been doing well on my primary goal of going to the gym most days instead of making excuses for not going to the gym. I was slick enough to not get any alternate-side parking tickets. Relaxation was a major goal, and I can't say I haven't relaxed. Maybe vacation is wasted on me. Maybe I should find a year-round job and leave the vacationing to the pros.
5. I got an odd, presumably mistyped text message from my friend Susan (in case you're missing the pattern, I haven't seen/talked to her in forever either) which, if I'm interpreting correctly, means that she's coming to visit at some point. Which is nice, because Susan is pretty awesome.
6. I took in a Bourne Ultimatum/Superbad double feature Friday night, both good. Bourne is badass. Superbad was hilarious -- probably the funniest thing I've seen since Wet Hot American Summer. I expected it to be a bit dumber, but it was excellent. Michael Cera is indeed endearing. I don't know if that's what he's like in real life, or if Seth Rogen just asked him to act like George Michael again. I also saw the Simpsons eventually -- good enough, as good as an above average episode with just enough little bits thrown in for the fanboys and just enough advantage taken of not being on network television. Still need to see The Ten.
