Sorry for not talking to you more often, LiveJournal. I mean, I never even told you about the kinda-lame free show at the "castle" in Battery Park City where I "saw" Mates of State, except for the actual "being able to see them" part. I still like their albums, but the live show was a little too much the same. And the songs kind of all sound pretty much the same anyway. Oh well, I still love you Kitch-Pop. Or are they Twee-Pop?
I also went to another wedding, in Birmingham. The only impressions I was able to form of B'Ham were of HWY 280 and the poorly-marked exits, and the poorly-marked roads once you take those exits, but it was fun and every house in Birmingham is really nice. Beatles cover bands are neat. Renting a car was fun, I wish I had one of my own. And a parking space would be nice.
Also, it has been extremely hot here. And humid. Gross. I've been sick the last few days. It all started in the middle of the day on Friday, when we were at Great Adventure (yay! it was a great adventure, power-outage included). I just had that "I'm getting sick" feeling, and I could feel my lymph nodes swelling up until they were the size of cats! No fun.
Luckily I have been finding numerous internet things to amuse me during my vacation, and here are some to visit and spend hours going through the archives of when you are bored:
Natalie Dee,
XKCD, the daily weather from a precocious young girl, complete with way-too-adult-for-her snark on the 1-2-3-
4Cast, and Hipster Humor on
The Burg. Making fun of hipsters is fun AND easy!
Today I would like to do the following, wth less than 3 hours to do them before heading to my Calculus II class: clean my room (will not happen), wash dishes (maybe?), find a cous cous recipe that incorporates some of the few things I have lying around my kitchen (that, or make a PB&J), watch TV (a must! I have one of the Thin Man movies on my DVR. old detective movies with witty people are great.), and call American Express (hmm, I may just have to put it off another day).
Have fun at your jobs, loyal readers!
