It's little, white, plastic, glossy, and uses a big battery...

Get your minds out of the gutter, it's my new Macbook!

There have been some annoyances, though: the RAM I ordered from 18004memory.com was for the wrong model of macbook, so I have to send it back and possibly pay a fee to exchange it, and I can't even do that because their tech support is only open on weekdays. It took me at least an hour of trying to install the new memory and having it give me problems during start-up before I gave up, and then later checked to see that, yes, in fact, I bought the wrong thing. GAH.

Also, when I tried to hook up my external

[tangent: this new Bon Jovi song SUCKS SO MUCH. Even worse? They're using it in New Jersey Tourism commercials, so I hear it all the time. GAH.]

hard drive to make my iTunes work, a bunch of songs were missing. Some were inexplicably hiding in the "Unknown Artist" folder. One of the A Tribe Called Quest albums (the one I never listen to even though I know I should) could not be found, even though it was right where it was supposed to be. It's taking me a while to fix everything, but I think it's under control. I have yet to hook up my ipod, we'll see how that goes.

Some other Mac things are annoying. Hitting 'enter' on a folder changes its name instead of opening it (which requires two fingers, lame). I don't know how to cycle through tabs in Safari using the keyboard (you'd think ctrl-tab or something would work, but no). Also, the edges of the computer dig into my wrists when I'm typing -- not cool.

Oh well. On the brighter side, our soccer game this morning was played in the middle of a rainstorm, which is really fun, despite wet grass being hard to run through and a water-logged ball being harder to kick. Anyway, fun!

Speaking of fun, my birthday party was excellent, and it was made all the nicer by lots of singing on my voicemail. Pictures will be on flickr tonight, because I am too lame (and lazy) to have saturday night plans when it is rainy.
