Dear Tom Waits,

Please stop freaking me the hell out.

Sincerely,
me.

Seriously. Between Tom Waits and Toddlerpedes, I'm anticipating some pretty bad nightmares. And I'm pretty sure Tom Waits is a genius. But I'm afraid of him.

Also: Built to Spill? Yes please. I thought it was just Big Dipper and Twin Falls, but Car is pretty damn great too. I saw them with Apples in Stereo and Superchunk (I think it was all three) at Irving Plaza once. My memory was not of indie rock lynchpins, but the big barbell in the back of the neck of the guy in front of me. I get it, you're totally punk, sheesh.

Typing "Superchunk" reminded me of Superdrag, who I'm pretty sure I also saw at Irving Plaza (I want to say that was an NYU show, when we had Phantom Planet maybe? Or was that Ben Kweller? No, that was Ben Kweller and Wilco, when Wayne Coyne was in the VIP section. He is tall. Man, we had some pretty great shows. I skipped out on Sonic Youth in favor of Rockwell Church one time, and I don't regret it yet. In two years I'll probably go on a huge SY kick and regret it bigtime. ) I just gave iTunes a dollar for the "Who sucked out the feeling?" song. Between that and choosing wuss-rock over indie-rock, I am totally lame.

You guys should be glad I didn't have a livejournal when I was in college, or else I would have clogged up your "friends" page everytime I had a paper due. Back to work!
