Mix CD update

Nov 28, 2005 20:51

Because I just *know* you guys all care, here is my semi-final December Mix CD track listing. It debuts on Saturday, so there may be changes...I keep hearing songs that I want to put on there, but there's only so much space on a CD. If you don't have all these songs and want a copy of the mix, just send me your address.

My goal was to put on a bunch of fun songs that none of the people getting this have ever heard (but should!), then a bunch of non-traditional Christmas/holiday songs. I'm betting that, out of 24 tracks, at least 20 will be new to everybody in the mix cd club.

Side A: Pop Songs!

Robbers on High Street - "Spanish Teeth"
Old 97's - "Big Brown Eyes"
Replacements - "I Will Dare"
Craig Wedren - "Stuck"
Sleater-Kinney - "You're No Rock 'n Roll Fun"
Jump, Little Children - "First to Feel Like This"
Bill Carson & His Checkered Past - "Radio Dial"
Shudder to Think - "Beauty Strike"
Paul Westerberg - "Let's Not Belong Together"
Rhett Miller - "This Is What I Do"
David Mead - "Girl On the Roof"
Nathan Larson - "One Perfect Stranger"

transition: Theodore Shapiro and Lee Mars - "Back From Malta (The Baxter opening theme)"

Side B: Christmas Songs! Sort of!
Jump, Little Children - "You're All I Want For Christmas"
The Silver Bells - "Sad Christmas"
Danny Elfman/Jack Skellington - "What's This?"
The LeeVees - "Goyim Friends"
Guster - "Carol of the Meows"
The Silver Bells - "You've Run Out of Ideas for Christmas"
David Mead - "A Gift For You All"
Soul Coughing - "Suzy Snowflake"
Squirrel Nut Zippers - "Winter Weather"
Belle & Sebastian - "Winter Wooskie"
Hotel Lights - "Stumblin' Home Winter Blues"

I was going to use "Christmas Is So Far Away" as my David Mead Christmas song, but it's way too slow. I'm not sure about the Rhett Miller song and "Girl on the Roof" -- I might pick different songs by them, it's a tough decision. Since it's supposed to be 60 degrees tomorrow, I may have to cut out that cold weather medley. And I couldn't fit in my favorite song in the world, so maybe it'll be a bonus cassingle?

Time to watch my favorite new television show, starring Willow and Doogie Howser!
