Canon Point: After her death by Sephiroth, when she’s going into the Lifestream.
Gender: Female
Age: 22 years old.
Birthdate/Sign: February 7th / Aquarius.
Tattoo: On her chest, right on the breastbone where her necklace lies. It’s about 3-4 inches in diameter.
Suitability: N/A
Power: Aerith will have the
White Materia with her, seeing as while it did fall out of her hair ribbon, it also landed on the bottom of the pool that she was also laid to rest in; it will still be with her when she arrives. The White Materia can be used to talk to the planet; however, it can only be used to talk to the planet Gaia, so it won’t be able to do that when Aerith is in Zodion. The White Materia contains the spell “Holy” which is a powerful white magic spell that can deal heavy damage; this spell will be powered down considerably, though it should also be noted that Aerith doesn’t speak about it much anyway, and she isn’t big on summoning Holy for anything but to help the planet back home. The spell "Holy" in Zodion will be a white magic healing spell, and Aerith will be able to heal people in small doses.
Personality: On the outside, Aerith is shown to be a very nice girl, kind and helpful, always there for her friends and family, all while having a generally disposition. This is how she is on the outside and the inside, but while most will take her good humor at face value and leave it at that, Aerith is not someone who has only one side; she is multifaceted in her feelings and beliefs, much of which is shown over the course of years. Nice and kind only work for some of the time, and seeing as Aerith was a young girl growing up in the slums of Midgar, she had to learn how to get out of sticky situations from a young age. There is no doubt that Aerith is street smart; she is used to dealing with people who want to use her for their own gain, such as the ShinRa Corporation, who was always after her while she was young. She had to learn how to protect herself from people like that, as well as any others who might come after her; she is not the kind of girl who will just sit back and take people walking all over her. Aerith will fight back if she needs to, though she prefers peace to violence; however she understands the need for violence at times.
She is a little naïve at times, but only because of her own shortcomings; if she had not lived under the plate for most of her life, she would not be so afraid of the sky, as an example. When it comes to her world beneath the slums, and being able to read people right off the bat; that is where she shows off that she’s more hardened then she looks. Aerith is an optimist, even in the most dire of situations, and it is that optimism that pushes her far in her life, giving people more trust then they might deserve at times. She is clearly devoted to her friends and family; although Elmyra is not her true mother, she acts as if she is, and she will do anything to help her. This also shows in her inability to let go at times; her interest in Cloud at first is because of how much he looks like Zack, the man she grew to love who had been missing for five years by the time she meets Cloud. This shows that she’ll never give up on someone, no matter the time spent apart, or who they are. Even when finding out that Zack was dead, she still carried a torch for him, moving on while still keeping him in her memories.
While she will never give up on a person, there are other things that Aerith does that shows she cares about a person; just because she began to know Cloud through the similarities to Zack first does not mean she doesn’t care about him. Aerith is incredibly protective of Cloud, and she wants to get to know him for who he really is rather than just another SOLDIER who says he’ll protect her. She is intuitive; she can tell how someone is feeling from their words and body language, knowing when someone is upset by something and ready to help in any way she can. It helps that she’s also not someone who gets jealous easily; she becomes good friends with Tifa, even though the other woman likes Cloud as well. It’s the experiences that she’s had in her life that helps with that; she is calm and patient about many things most of the time, and it takes a lot for her to become angry or frustrated. She can be a people person at times, while also being someone who enjoys their time alone; she likes being with her friends and helping them, but she enjoys the time she spends on her garden in the church by herself just as much as any other time.
A problem solver, Aerith is quick to think, and can be quick to act at times, depending on the circumstances. She was more impulsive when she was younger, and while that has been worked on and tempered into being more patient, there are moments where she might go and do something without consulting anyone else first; in this way, she is also very sneaky, surprising people by showing up where they least expect her to. This adds to her mischievous side, where she enjoys playing small pranks on her friends as well as teasing them from time to time, though it is always done in good fun, and it never comes from a bad place. She gets along well with people, and while she does have her own moments of weakness where she becomes sad and depressed, she has learned how to bounce back from that, letting her eternal optimism help her along the way. The only time she really feels down and upset is when she thinks about how she is the last living Cetra; it’s a lonely existence, being the last of your kind, and because of her early life being experimented on by scientists, this sets her apart from other people. This is also why when it comes to her past she is reluctant to say anything about it, and would prefer if it never came to light.
In the end, Aerith is a cheerful girl who will protect those she cares about with her life; and when it comes down to her dying to help save the world, she is the kind of person who will not hesitate to do it all over again.

"Zodion" First-Person Network Entry:
[Waking up in a strange world, in a strange temple that reminded her more of her church back in the slums then the Temple of the Ancients, and Aerith was sure that she was dead, once upon a time. Right now she’s taking a break, sitting on the grass as she feels the light spray of rain fall on her skin.]
This place was definitely not on the map. [She smiles, balancing the communicator on her knees.]
I was told by the Twelve in the letter that I was chosen because of something. I hope I haven’t lost it in between the transition back home to this place now.
[She looks up to the sky and smiles.] I used to be afraid of the sky, back home. So much empty space, it feels like a person can get lost in it.
[After a moment she looks back to the video feed with a peaceful expression on her face.]
Is there anyone else out there as lost as I am?
"Zodionlogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:
The pain had been intense, burning brightly before fading away, like a star in the night sky that would only be seen once before it was gone forever. Aerith had wondered, like all children do, about dying and how it would feel; with the responsibilities of a Cetra, the idea of it was simple. If there was life to give, then there was life to be taken away. Whether it came from slipping away, peaceful, in your bed at an old age, or whether it came while you were still young and unaware that fate was about to catch up to you, it didn’t matter; the circle of life would continue no matter what. And even as she was killed by Sephiroth’s sword, she could feel the planet calling out to her, embracing one of their own into the Lifestream--
A feeling that was cut short as Aerith opened her eyes, feeling cold stone at her back through her dress. She continued to lie there for a moment, eyes looking up at marble and a sky that she didn’t think she’d ever see again. There was a moment of panic, one that gripped her through and through at the knowledge that she wasn’t in the right place. In fact, she had no idea where she was, and she sat up, a hand pressed to her forehead like it could stave off a coming headache.
“This isn’t the Lifestream...” she murmured, green eyes taking in everything she could; the marble, the circle of the floor, the lack of people here, and especially the lack of her friends. The last thing she remembered was dying; of praying for a way to save the planet, and of the person who killed her, light glinting off all of the silver. The terror of it all followed by the release of pain as she slipped away. If someone had pulled her out of the Lifestream, then there was definitely something wrong. Standing up, she brushed off her dress and looked around once again; it was then that her eyes caught on the pedestal with the box on it, right in the center of the floor. She wondered how she could have missed it the first time she looked around, especially as she felt a strange pull towards it.
Rather than try and fight it, Aerith went with it, taking small, careful steps towards the box. She had her boots on, but water still seeped in anyway as she walked into the small pool of water. It all reminded her of something greater than herself, of what she was trying to do back home. Her thoughts were interrupted when she could feel the water of the pool above her ankles, and she looked down, the pool of water rising around her. Transfixed by it, she looked around, the water rising up and up until she could glance down and see green eyes reflected back at her, a pain sharp against her chest. Her reflection was naked; something she would be more concerned about if she wasn’t already looking at the spot where the pain had been; what looked like some kind of symbol on her skin, right at the breastbone. She watched it glow for a moment, her fingers reaching out to touch the reflection’s symbol rather than her own skin, and the water slowly began to drain away, ripples where she had touched it before.
When the water was back down to what it was before, she reached out to the box, opening it slowly. Inside was what she assumed was some kind of PHS, though better than the ones back home, along with a letter of some kind. Reading it carefully, she frowned, slipping the PHS into one of her pockets. With no one around still, she finally glanced back up at the sky; maybe the Twelve were somewhere up there.
"I don’t know how much help I’ll be, but I’ll try," She said softly, speaking like she would to the planet, to her plants back home, in a church far away from here. She stayed for another minute before looking away, slipping the letter into her pocket as well as she made her way out of the temple. Maybe she would find others here who were just as lost as she was.
