Well, I am back from an amazing east coast experience. The documentary is pretty much "in the can" as they call it. It was bizarre and exhilarating all at once. I think could be very, very big. I hope to have it completely edited with one year. Thanks to everyone who has helped and/or supported this endeavor! Some more info is already up on ( Read more... )

Thanks, it's gonna be a long process.

Hey, did you see that Brandi is playing a show on Wednesday night at Ghengis Cohen? I saw it in the LA Weekly. I'd like to go. I haven't seen here in ages. Only thing is that FANTOMAS is also playing that night at 7pm (a free show at Amoeba). I have to find out what time Brandi hits the stage. Do you still talk to her at all?

Peace,

You're going to see FANTOMAS!? Cool! THE DIRECTOR'S CUT is awesome! Especially their cut of "Ave Satani." Excellent.

Wow, I never would've imagined that you like FANTOMAS! Very cool. Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Trevor Roy Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3) and King Buzzo (Melvins) really come together nicely to form this noisy, avant-garde supergroup.

I've actually never heard "The Director's Cut" but I do have their debut album. And they just released another one. Have you ever seen a FANTOMAS film? Waaaaaay trippy. :)

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THIS?

Small World!

Matt Szlachetka and "The Northstar Session" will be appearing at Genghis Cohen on March 25, 2004 at 10:30pm.

I met Matt six years ago at my buddy Joe's wedding. He was cousin to the Bride and only a teenager then, but a talented one (he played a mean guitar) with big ambitions.

Fast forward to 2004: Matt lives in San Diego, has a music degree, and has created "The Northstar Session" which plays regularly to local audiences. He's produced a few solo CDs and has received some print acclaim.

Go see him and tell him I sent you! For more info on this rising talent, here's his website: http://www.thenorthstarsession.com

Wow. That would've been nice to see. I'm sure she'll play again. I just happened to spot her name in the LA Weekly. And I hadn't talked to her in like 2 years. I'll let you know if I see her name in the paper again.

Peace,
