Yesterday, happymediocrity posted an entry about her grandmother's view on homosexuality and God. Her grandmother said that the reason for the fires in California was because God was angered by the fact that gay marriage is now legal. I apologize to anyone who also holds that idea but in my opinion, that's a load of crap.
Reasons I believe that:
1. Didn't Jesus say to love everyone because God does?
2. Jesus was a friend of the outcasts, I think gays fit under that label.
3. Doesn't God just want us to love each other and do you think he honestly cares who it is that we love?
I went to Catholic school for most of my life and have studied the Bible front to back. I don't agree with a lot of it, but I do follow all of Jesus' teachings and none of those include hating gays.
As a matter of fact my totally awesome church, the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ (sounds culty I know) is enthralled that gay marriage is legal. In fact, tomorrow we are performing one!
Any love that is love is right.
