Ami woke up from a night of no nightmares. A giid thign too, as she had two peopel in the room with her she did not want to wake up. In the night she had unisnuggled from Setsuna, and Akira was snoozing on her bed. Internal alarm clocks were wonderful things. Her body quite used to waking up early for her DAMM class that morning, Setsuna was only temporarily confused and displaced. The pain in her shoulder was certainly enough to bring her up to speed. Mission, fight with Alphonse, ....fucking children, and staying with Ami last night. Because the children were freaking her out and that made sense and it certainly (she'd keep telling herself) had nothing to do with Ami just wanting Setsuna there to have Setsuna there...

Setsuna let out a sigh, not getting up from their makeshift bed on the floor quite yet. She wasn't sure if she was ready for another day.

Ami heard the sigh, and turned over to look at Setsuna.

//"Did you sleep alright?"//

Setsuna closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath to hold herself back from flailing of any sorts. Girls...slept together in the same room like that all the time and it didn't necissarily mean anything, right? Just like the slumber party. Completely innocent. Completely normal. Besides, she didn't want to inadvertantly wake Akira or Naomi.

So she sat up and nodded, cradling her arm just a little. //"Yes. Bad angle for the shoulder, but it wasn't bad."//

//"Sorry about that... I didn't think about floor plus hurt shoulder..."// Ami said, chagrined.

She glanced at the bed. //"I think he slept the whole time. Now i just have to figure out what in the world to feed him..."// she shook her head. She will figure out that little domestic detail once the kid woke up.

//"Thank you. For staying."//

//"Food?"// Setsuna suggested, oh-so-helpfully, and then shifted a little as she said, //"You're welcome. It...it was nothing. Did...you sleep well?"//

Because, if Setsuna had stayed and Ami hadn't slept well,then that defeated the purpose of Setsuna staying, right?

Setsuna nodded. Good. //"Did you have any while you were in Japan?"// Setsuna asked quietly, after spotting a clock and seeing that she did have some time before her DAMM class and a glance toward Akira to see he was still sleeping. And sucking his thumb; it surprised Setsuna that Ami's kid would pick up such a distasteful habit. //"How...did that go, anyway?"//

Ami grew serious. //"I did yes. When i slept. It went... well, it went."// Ami looked away, frowning. //"Went to the temple i saw in the meditation. Saw some things while meditating there... saw other sights. And..."// she looked back to Setsuna, watching for a reaction. //"talked to Billy..."//

Japanese was such a literal language as it was and Setsuna's mind equally so, so she just wondered why Ami would mention that. Of course she talked to Billy; it would be a pretty boring trip if they hadn't spoken to each other the whole time. Setsuna gave a thoughtful hum, nodding a bit. //"Akira...actually said something to me yesterday that I thought was strange,"// she said. //"Perhaps not something to talk about now, but later. I think...it might have somethng to do with what we're working on...and I want to know more about that temple..."//

Ami shrugged a little. //"It is alright. Or it will be."// she smiled, as she realized, sitting here talking to Setsuna, that the wish she had made at Tokyo tower had indeed come true.

Setsuna looked at the clock, now rather wishing there wasn't so much time before she had to leave for class.

Ami sighed. //"Yes... a mistake... it will be alright, don't worry"// This was the definition of mixed signals, wasn't it?

She did notice Setsuna looking at the clock. She knew why too... //"Setsuna-chan"// she said, almost pleadingly //"I know it is awkward, but... don't run away..."//
