Almost two months since my last update. So much for being the change and posting more, huh? Ugh.
Okay, so...
tl:dr: I have been very busy lately. Lots of stress. Staying in my current apartment for almost another year. Spicer is not doing well. Work is crazy-busy. Haven't been able to do anything creative since Yuletide.
I did the math and renewed my lease to stay in my current apartment. Even if I'd moved into the cheapest place I could find, due to deposits and fees I wouldn't have saved any money until November. (And that place was in a neighborhood that scared me.) My new housing goal is to buy a home already. Last week I was depositing a very welcome paycheck at the credit union, and I asked my teller about the loan officer. He said she was standing right next to me, talking to the next teller, and did I want to talk with her? My reply was pretty much, "Buh uh buh buh okay." I was dressed for exercising, down to the baggy sweatpants, but it didn't phase her. She was very nice. We had to work with estimates since of course I didn't have any paperwork on me, but she confirmed my own suspicions about what I could afford. I have a printout of estimates.
Spicer is not doing well. We've had numerous vet visits so far in 2015. Last month they drew blood and ran tests, and his liver was bad. Today I took him in for another round of tests. Supposed to hear back tomorrow. He lost half a pound in the past month, which for a cat is quite a bit. :C He's hungry, but he doesn't want to eat more than a bite or two of anything. The doctor said to try tilapia fillets. I picked up some frozen ones today. Three of them are defrosting in the fridge. I'll cook them up tomorrow and see how he does. My vet said he has a 14 year old cat at home who is doing well with a mixture of tilapia, pumpkin, and some sort of powder supplement.
I went to a fabulous wedding for my friend Saladbats, and much fun was had. My gift to her was a guest book in poster format that everyone could sign. C: I met lots of amazing people--and almost everyone was in costume! Steampunk was the prevalent motif, and there I was in my hot-pink Love Me Section work coveralls. ^^;; I made an impression! I was asked about my costume four times. One of the people I told about Skip I'm pretty sure will be trying the manga! Yay for cosplay!
I have managed to thin down the books. I've traded, sold, or given away around 30. The pressure has lessened, since moving has been delayed for almost another year.
I have a new shoujo title, the first to replace the two that are ending shortly: Clay and Voice. Viz hasn't announced it yet, so I can't say anything. I shall call it "New Title 12" for now. :P The artwork is very pretty, though! A new-to-me editor, too. ^^
I haven't been able to do any artwork or writing for myself. It's alllllll work right now. Seraph 6 is done until corrections, tomorrow I'll spend the whole day working on the next chapter, #31, (this is normal for the magazine chapters), then it's back to finishing up Voice 12 and Requiem 2. Both are due in two weeks. I already have script for the final volume of Clay, but I have yet to start. Trying to clear up my current work load. I aim to start on Wed, with Seraph out of the way for now.
I want to write or draw something. But when I sit down with an empty screen for either, my mind blanks and guilt sets in, whispering into my ear, I should be working...
*sigh* Speaking of which, yeah. Break time is over, back to work.
