How about a work update? Though if anyone is interested, that suited guy from my previous post did find his Ace of Spades, but when a cute woman showed up, made eye contact with him and blushed with excited delight for seeing such a hottie, he declared himself defeated and vanished with a poof of smoke. (Don't look at me, I have no idea why.) ^^;; All the captured-into-cards people were freed, at least. I feel sorry for the woman, not getting to flirt with the babe. :/ She seemed so happy to meet him!
I'm in the middle of lettering three new chapters for Naruto, 523-252, that are one issue's worth of English Jump. Story-wise, I have a better idea of what's going on than I expected! And my fave Naruto character is in them! JOY! :D Two pages a day will bring me in under deadline, and I'm focusing on the difficult pages now, while I "only" have Natsume and Skip on my plate. Because....
Script for Saiun 5 should start arriving this time next week. A couple weeks later than the original estimate, but oh well. I'll have the usual rush-job lettering window of a month, which unfortunately overlaps with two book club meetings, the birthday of my IRL friend mcruthless, annnnd the Fourth of July. Fun times, eh? Particularly that 2nd book club meeting, the one in July. The group decided to try manga, and I was nominated the resident expert, and they voted to read Fullmetal Alchemist vol 1. I HAVE to be there. Even if that's my only day off from work, I HAVE to be there.
Natsume 10 is progressing nicely. I'm 4/5ths done, including all the difficult pages. (Unless I misjudged one of the yellows I have left, of course.) :B The omake at the end of the vol is dated May '10, which meach we're only a year behind! Natsume is a monthly title in Japan. I figure we'll be officially caught up with vol 12. ^^V
Skip 26 is also progressing nicely at 4/5ths cmplete, though as my current volume with the most buffer for page quota, it's not as far along as I'd like. (I should already be done, but see previous sentence.) :P I do have two orange pages and four orange dots left, but at least all the pinks and the one purple are in the first half and long-completed. Whew!
The past two weeks have found me in a permanent state of tired. I blame the increasingly hot weather. Yesterday was a scorcher. It only made it up to 86 or so (yes yes, laugh it up! That's a cool summer day in my hometown back in TX, I know it's a low temp to be whining about heat), but it was incredibly muggy. Thankfully my air conditioner, Hoth, has a dehumidifying setting. I had him running all day and past sunset! Today is overcast and cooler. Yay! I definitely prefer the cooler weather, though I must admit the summer heat was surprisingly long in coming this year.
Back to work for me! As a reminder to myself, next time I need to talk about that manga I just read with the great panel design and layout. It was inspiring! ^^V
