Script for Saiun 4 arrived last Monday, a week ago. The deadline is in a month, which means 8 pages a day. Wheee! I'm perfectly on schedule so far! *knocks on wood*
Thankfully I finished Skip 25 on Saturday, which reduced my daily page quota from 20 (8 Saiun plus 4 each for Clay, Natsume, and Skip) to 16, which is definitely more manageable. I'm hoping I can start running again, as I haven't had the time to leave my apartment for more than snail mail checks and one grocery trip for the past week. It hasn't been too long since my last run, though. I shouldn't have lost too much of my stamina. --;
I tend to watch more movies and anime when I'm stuck in work hell. It keeps me going and stimulates the brain without requiring much effort on my part, when i need to save that effort for finishing pages. :P The past week I've watched Megamind (very fun, I just might buy my own copy), an independent drama called "The Arrangement" (a very interesting peek into arranged marriages for Orthodox Jews and Muslims), I finished season 2 of Supernatural (I was so relieved the 2nd season didn't have a killer cliffhanger like the first one did. GAH! But my poor Deanykins! *cries* NO SPOILERS PLEASE), and watched a good chunk of eps for all my current anime series (Bleach, Fairy Tail, Naruto, UraBoku), Oh yeah, and I watched Amelie for the 2nd time. It was just as good as I remembered!
I'm also working my way through various loaned DVDs and books, of which one notable entry is a manga called "Black Knight", by Tsurugi Kai. Tsurugi-sensei's artwork is lovely...but...I couldn't finish volume 2. Her plot is muddled and I can't make anything out of the politics (I do LOVE complicated thrillers with lots of conflictingly fun politics, but this is just a mess), and while the entire male cast is beautiful to behold, the two leads are...well...they're boring as hell. :| The seme is such a good honest guy and so earnest and blah, and the uke is so sweet and innocent and blah. What I find amusing about the situation is that these two guys are good, normal, well-adjusted, and decent people. I should enjoy reading about their blooming relationship! But...I kept longing for a fight between them, or some conflict, or just something INTERESTING like traumatic death or an evil big brother or SOMETHING to liven things up a bit. Give me some pain and suffering to enjoy, damn it! THAT was an interesting revelation for me, I must say. Welcome to my previously unknown sadistic side. Wheee! *waves hands with much excitement*
To sum up: Black Knight, by Tsurugi Kai. Read it for the pretty men, because the plot and characterization are sadly lacking. Ah well...
Back to work for me. 14 more pages today to go!
