Weekend and Monday

Hooray for great weekends!

Saturday: Breakfast at our local cafe - best BLT I've had in London yet, HURRAH.

Then we hopped a bus to the Science Museum and ran around The Garden (the discovery area in the basement for 3-6yr olds) with Pascale. We built a house out of giant legos and wore hard hats and pushed wheelbarrows.

We played in the Padded Pod of PlushToys and found a cool monkey puppet. We banged on instruments and pulled levers and ran plastic boats through the water tray.

On the way home we stopped at the GAP for a bra, underpants and a tunic sweater that I will likely live in through my pregnancy. Katie, the underpants are awesome, and may be a suitable replacement for the Elle MacPherson, plus they are 3 for £10. *ahem*.

Sunday we had marvellous bacon sandwiches, played at home for a while and then did the weekly shop at Morrison's. A nap later and Kitty was here to watch Pascale and it was time for Tyler's game!

Tyler did a bang-up job of GMing his first ever game. It took a while to roll up characters since it was a new system but even that part was really fun. The priors and particulars were hilarious as were the quirks and flaws. All the players got on well and there was some awesome role-playing from some. We fought wolves and snakes and kobolds and nobody died, hooray!

Tyler and I got some treats on the way home and then stayed up for a while talking about how the game went. I love how excited and happy he gets when talking about it, I think this was a really good choice for him.

And now, Monday. Pascale and I went to Rhyme Time at the local library today which was okay. We checked out two books with her library card and did a bit of shopping at the local shops.

Pascale is talking loads. She tackles speaking the same way she's tackled her physical development: slow and steady and careful. She puts sentences together one word at a time and then repeats them to make sure she has them correct.

Today my favourite sentence of hers was: "Mama and Pascale having a snack. Pascale snack nice and chewy. Mama snack with mustard and cheese." "chewy" was a new word and a nice one.

Oh, she also said "I'm eating the wind!" I was carrying her down the road and she had her mouth open in a strange way. I said "Pascale, do you have a new tooth?" And she said, "I am eating the wind!"

And that's about that for now. Mayo (my mom) comes to visit us in less than 48 hours, YAY.
