it's all for the sake of arriving with you.

Sunday nights are so much easier when I'm with him.

Thank God tomorrow is Monday but it's going to be a good day anyway. I'm going to do a lot more baking, both for my human friends/family as well as my doggie ones. No liver brownies this time for the pups though.... yuckkkk. I have all day off until work in the evening. nice.

Hopefully I stay so optimistic about the week. I work a lot at Pier 1, but it's all early morning shifts with Neva so it won't be so bad. I have two nights off at the coffee shop, one of which will be spent bowling with the gang/exchanging secret santa goodies. I'm excited, even though it's bowling, which I hate, but am willing to go do occasionally with good people.

This weekend was fun fun. I got all of my Christmas shopping DONE. It was a challenge, and I even had to drive out to Sutton's Bay for my dad & brother, but it was a good day. I loved shopping downtown for my first Christmas up here. It felt good to support the local economy, and I know I bought things that no one else will buy for my family. =) Last night I baked gingerbread cookies and decorated them all fancy-like. I hadn't done that in years! I had a long conversation with Jen on the phone too, it was really nice.

I am so, so, SO excited for next week. I'm thrilled that Dave is finally coming up to visit, then of course it will be Christmastime. Plus, hopefully spending some time with Tom and Jen since they will be in Michigan again! hoorayyyy. I'm going to try and enjoy this week, since it's the last week before Christmas and I still have a lot of preparing to do, but I really can't wait for next Monday to be here. <3

I might go back to school. More specifically, I want to go to baking school. I like what I have my Bachelor's in, and I really do want a career in it, but I also kind of want a career in the culinary world. I want to broaden my options a little between my two loves - food and the arts. It's still very much a work in progress plan, but we'll see.

Speaking of food, I finally made it to the French café that's right outside downtown TC, Patisserie Amie. It was adorable, and ohhh my goodness, the food was amazing. It was the most beautiful, delicious lunch I had in a long time. The menu is almost in complete French, and they serve dishes that were pretty fancy and that would rival any expensive French bistro, but at half the price. Loveddd it, I'll definitely be back.

Oh, there's a lot on my mind. I'm going to tell you everything, soon.

christmas, life, traverse city
