I've always had such fond memories of September. Sure, it was a time for a back to school, and that was sort of stressful during my college days because of marching band taking up 100 hours a week and auditions were looming. But, still, everything was new and you got to see all your friends again, so it was still a good and happy time.
This is my first non-backtoschool September in... 20 years? So strange. It feels like a never-ending summer or something. When the snow comes I'll really be confused. haha.
I can't wait until fall officially gets underway. Especially since I'm living here in TC, everyone tells me how gorgeous the fall colors are, and the farmers' market is just booming on Saturday mornings. Apple orchards, wineries, fall color tours... I'm excited!
I was at Michael's yesterday just browsing, and they have all their Halloween stuff out already. Oh, I love the premature holiday displays. hehe. I love decorating for Halloween, though. All the creepieeees!! I think since I have a patio this year, I want to get hay bales or a scarecrow or something fun to put out there. Apparently Halloween is pretty big in this town, hooray! Alisha and I were talking about trying to get some people to drive down to Cedar Point for Halloweekends, I hope that happens. I can't not go this year. =(
I started working at Beaner's last night!! It was so fun, I've missed being a barista. Everyone seems so fun, and it's such a laid back store compared to Ann Arbor. hooray. I had to learn how to use a manual espresso shot puller though, they don't have a super-automatic like at my old store. It's easy enough, just takes more time. But, it does feel more official-barista-y than just pressing a button and espresso magically appearing. hah.
The weekend of the 27th is not going to come soon enough! I'm going home to my parents' house! Nat's baby shower is that weekend, and I just really miss my dog. =( Plus, Alisha will be around that area with her hubby that weekend, so on our way back we're going to make a detour to Michigan State and capture Tracy and have a girly good time. =D
Next weekend FINALLY is the volunteer meeting at the humane society. I can't wait to start volunteering there. I need something to fill my non-Abby time.
And to top it off, I don't have to work my flex shift at Pier 1 today, so I get to stay home with the windows open on this beautiful, cloudy, cool day until work tonight. looove.
friends,
