This is probably the first of many updates I will make while procrastinating from doing homework. I'm already starting to hate web homework.
It occurred to me last night that I probably need to get an apartment as soon as possible. I think it's basically time I take that step forward and start living on my own.
I saw the movie "Me and You and Everyone We Know" last night. I've heard some mixed reviews, but I thought it was surprisingly enjoyable, beyond being a bit too sensitive for it's own good sometimes (especially in the beginning) and perhaps dragging a bit in places. But I think everyone should at least give it a chance.
There was a preview for a new movie with Bill Murray where he's a sad aging flawed older man. I think it won at the Cannes Film Festival, so I'll definitly see it, but I think Bill Murray needs to start switching it up some. How many movies does this make where he's a depressed "tragically funny" older man who spends much of the money staring blankly into the camera? Let's count them: Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, Life Aquatic, Lost in Translation, uh, Osmosis Jones I think. I don't know, he does it well, but I think he should try to be upbeat again just as a change of pace.
In a few hours I'll see the two main actors in "Napoleon Dynamite" address a crowd of students at the Singultary Center. It should be pretty good. I liked that movie, although some people like to hate on it (cough, cough, Andrea (jk! :-) ). I thought it was funny, but I'm kinda getting sick of "Vote for Pedro" T-shirts EVERYWHERE, sold at Goody's and Walmart and whatnot, especially since the movie came out IN THE SUMMER AFTER MY SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. It was funny, but, hey, c'mon people. Oh well, I guess it took a while to catch on.
