Well I guess I should update this but I just don't know what to say. I finally have the internet in my room so that's a plus. This cultural exchange is much different than that which I experienced in Bolivia.
1 - I actually spoke Spanish when I went to Bolivia.
2 - I live in a city where I can talk to my friends every day if need be or can atleast feel connected to them somehow via the internet (oh, modern technology).
3 - I'm not in it with only one other person who happens to dislike me.
4 - There are people my age all around.
5 - Chinese and Bolivian culture... not so much alike.
The learning curve for languages is so fascinating to me. We set up a language pledge that started today, so if I really dedicate myself to this I can fucking shoot through the ceiling. That would be awesome.
The other thing about being in a foreign country is that it allows you to start over in a lot of ways. It's cool.
