Day 29: How do you feel about the female characterization in the films?

Let's start with Elizabeth Swann.

In general, I am pleased with her characterization as a woman, if not otherwise. She shows just as much development as the male characters, but doesn't ever feel like she's gone "manly", even when she's pretending to be a man. I like the fact that she gets excited about pretty dresses and is able to properly wield a sword. She is a leader, but does not seem wildly revolutionary, it really just seems like it's a part of her personality. It doesn't feel like she really pushes the male characters around too too much as to be unbelievable, and she's willing to use her femininity to accomplish something. She's also intelligent, which is :].

And now for the rest of them:
Annamaria: She's freaking awesome. I love her so much and miss her and seeing Zoe Saldana anywhere makes me nostalgic.
Tia Dalma/Calypso: She's kind of scary. Like, really scary. Yay for scary ladies!
Scarlet & Giselle: Um. They're prostitutes. I don't really know what that says about women, except that sometimes women are prostitutes.
Angelica: She kind of annoys me, but she's okay.
Syrena: Eh, she doesn't bother me, so whatever.
The real question is this: why are all of the men interested in Elizabeth?
For serious.
It's not that I don't love her, because I do, but really: Will, Jack, Norrington, Beckett, & Sao Feng.
Ugh, whatever. It's because Keira's the prettiest. After Orlando.

Day 1: You seem somewhat familiar. have I threatened you before?

Day 30: I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.

let's go to the movies, female character ftw, my pirates, hey girl hey, this is my fandom, hi boyfriend hi
