[FIC] In Dreams - Violation [Naruto] [SasuNaru]

Jan 18, 2011 17:41

A continuation of In Dreams. It took me a while to wrestle it down, and I still managed to not hit any of the points I wanted to make, but at this point I'm just grateful that I was able to write anything at all. I am hoping it will slowly get easier from here on out.

Fic is from Naruto's POV again. No warnings other than the occasional cuss word.

It has always irked Naruto to have been the butt of a secret that wasn't a secret.

One day he would have traded his right arm to know why everyone in the village hated him, and the next he would have traded his left to have someone tell him Mizuki-sensei lied. But there it was, the answer to twelve years of suffering delicately nestled between the generation who knew and couldn't speak of it by law, and the generation who didn't.

Salvation lay in the generation right in between. In his classmates at the academy who would eventually become his friends and comrades. In Shikamaru who never took the adult's bullshit at face value and Konohamaru who wasn't one of the Rookie Nine, but might as well have been in Naruto's eyes.

The story of the fox demon had always been a secret, because The Third made it so after having lost his carefully chosen and well loved successor. After Mizuki's attempted defection however, it had become his secret. It was the first thing he'd ever really owned; the first thing he'd been allowed to be responsible for. The demon became his many missing rites of passage in one inconvenient package sealed in his belly. The fox was his first secret, his first pet.

The little less than a year that he'd had with his team flew by between missions and the newness that were his first bonds. If he were ever going to have told anyone about the nine tails, it would have been them. Except that finding the right time to open that particular can of worms was even harder than getting one of those damn bells from Kakashi-sensei had been.

So he never told either of them.

Gaara was the first person to hear it from his mouth. A perfect stranger. Not someone who'd shed blood, sweat, and tears as Sasuke and Sakura had.

Then Sasuke left.

And if there had never been a good time before that, there certainly wasn't after.

It irks Naruto more to be thrown back into the days of it not being his choice whom to tell. In the three years since he'd heard it first from Mizuki, some people had found out because he trusted them. Some people he'd told out of necessity because he was dangerous. The only other people who were told despite the law and not by him were the people that Tsunade, Jiraiya, or Kakashi had told. They were on a need to know basis, and most of them were old enough to atleast know the half of it.

No one had ever forced it out of him.

Not until Sasuke, who stretched out his hand and reached into his mind as easily as he'd put a fist through his chest at the Valley of the End.

He'd never felt more violated.

" Who would have thought you'd have such a thing inside you? "
