" Get out. "
He just sighs, nodding and slowly pushing himself to sit up despite the boneless feeling that makes him just want to curl up and stay put.
" I'm going. "
Just getting snorted at, he tries to move quicker, used to the routine by now, calmly waiting for the self important rant to start any second as he starts gathering his clothes.
" Awfully slow. You know, I have things to do, it's late enough already. Inconsiderate little.."
He's heard it all a thousand times over by now, and just tunes it out, quickly dressing. It would be depressing, if he bothered listening anymore, but he doesn't. Despite what Kaiba says, and probably convinces himself of, he did not just invite himself over. He has never been inconsiderate, nor has he ever made a single demand of the other boy outside of the whispered pleas that escape him during sex. 'Oh god.. please.. more.. don't stop.. Seto!'
He always gets the urge to say something when he gets to the door, but he's long since given up trying to figure out what, and instead just lifts a hand in a lazy sort of wave without even bothering to turn around. It isn't long before he's back in the comfort of his home, having snuck in without disturbing his grandfather. Stripping to nothing, he runs a hot bath, cell phone set to silent mode and resting on the edge of the sink while he brushes his teeth.
After every encounter he's allowed what Kaiba deems a reasonable amount of time to get himself home, and then comes the phone call. It's a strange ritual, the phone will vibrate and Yugi will turn it on without a word, on the other line Kaiba is just as silent. A moment passes before the call is disconnected, and that is all. Even now as he sinks into the hot water of his bath, cell pressed to his ear, he wonders what would happen if he just didn't answer it all one night.
Again, Kaiba disconnects the call and he follows suit with a quiet sigh. Closing amethyst eyes and setting his phone down on the floor by the tub, he wishes for once that he could break the norm, not be himself. It would be nice to stop the foolish hoping, to just accept. It would be nice, but it never changes, like he never changes. He'll always be the same wide-eyed boy with impossible dreams, forever wearing his heart on his sleeve.
He loves Seto Kaiba, and he thought that he was loved back. A little voice in the back of his head pipes up, urgently reminding him that he is. He'd thought.. alot of things. When his Other self was gone for good, he'd waited for what seemed like an eternity for something.. anything... the emptiness and sudden stillness inside him and all around him threatening to drive him mad. Finally, Kaiba had come, turning his world upside down once more, just the way he liked it.
But the feeling hadn't lasted, and the emptiness was clawing at him again.
