and a bucket, three pans, six old pillows and a hellava lot of other things to mop up the deluge. Yes, it rained a treat over New Year, on New Years Day we were hit with a couple of big hail storms and bingo, the flat roof refused to deal and so now the interior of our roof cavity must be sparkling clean after a river ran through it! The light fitting in the computer room is hanging down on it's wires after it pulled down through the soggy plasterboard, I'm glad that the safety switch in the meter box is operational as it kicked in nicely when the bloke forgot and switched it on while a stream of water was running off it into a bucket below...
Santa bestowed a mountain bike on the prawn, so my old road bike was cannabalised to fix my mountain bike that I had ridden once, but Saffron had knocked around a fair bit. A new-old cog in place and we have seen more of the Park on our doorstep than since we moved here. My arse bones are killing me 6 days in, no wonder you stand on your pedals all the time on a mb. The Big Guys bike is some upmarket hybrid jobbie, as opposed to my Target Shetland Pony, but has failed to negotiate the terrain as well as mine and has a bent rear wheel that is going to require some adjusting of spokes (apparently). A biking mad friend of mine assures me that my bum bones will toughen up in no time. I notice that she rides in padded shorty things that cost approximately four times the price of my Target Shetland, in the mean while I have invested in a gel seat cover. Noice. Squooshy.
A few cd's in the Santa Sack, Grizzlybear, Fleet Foxes, Animal Collective, seems to be a zoo theme rather than circus this year.
Tea time!
