Have you ever seen pigeons doing their little mating dance? It's great. All the ones around Brighton have just started doing it lately - I guess it's getting to that time of year - and they're so funny to watch. The male pigeon sort of struts around after the female one, making pretty dove-like cooing sounds, spreading his tail and wiggling his head at her. Meanwhile, the female pigeon gives him an "I'm not impressed" look and walks away, before stopping, apparently thinking "Oh, well, maybe I can't afford to be too choosy after all", and heading back towards him. They can do this for hours, as far as I can tell.
I like pigeons. I know they supposedly carry diseases, and everything, and everyone refers to them as "flying rats", but, hell, it's not like I'm going to eat one. I just like them. I like the seagulls here, too. They're proper wild animals, right here in a city, and watching them is endlessly entertaining.
Somebody on the
Straight Dope boards just used the word "bugf'ck*" in a post, as in "going absolutely bugf'ck". I don't know why I'm finding this funny, but I am. Now I want to use that word at every possible opportunity. Definitely my new favourite swearword.
