john's birthday extravaganza

Wednesday: Our overdue trip to Chicago.
-Cultural Center: closed to the public at the moment. disappointing, got coupons and lots of info.
-Taste of Chicago: Pad Thai and Rainbow Ice Cream mmmm. Laid out in the grass by Buckingham Fountain and ate and talked.
-Old Meig's Field: Walked allll the way down there along the seawall. Beautiful view. The place looks really cool for a concert. Potential to see a concert and not pay, too. And there's a beach there! Jeff the Whale was born too. We have him a whole backstory.
-Steve's Apartment: The last time at that one. Sadness, it was very empty and full of boxes. He moved to his new one Thursday night.
-Belmont and Clark: Keychains that John and I both had from Hollywood Mirror broke a while ago, so we got new ones. Then we wandered around more. Î realized how much I've outgrown that area.
-Cultural Center again: We sat in our spot and relaxed, took a break for a little bit. I love that spot, I love that room, I love that building. It is too beautiful for words. I'm getting married there.
-Walked down looking for somewhere to have dinner. Ended up in the Nordstrom building for Potbelly's. Then the Lego store. I wish I could build giant lego figures for a living.
-Navy Pier: Met up with some people from Loyola. Went on the Ferris Wheel, saw the biggest spider ever, scared the crap out of me. Jarrett would have died. I almost did. Then the fireworks were awesome. They had some different ones like smiley faces and hearts with arrows through them. There was a little fire, that was kinda cool to see.
-Raced to catch our train and missed it. That was kind of upsetting, but it was a nice wait. Interesting. Lots of people got trashed at the Taste and then caused a ruckus at the train station.
-The train ride home was terrible because of the other people, but really nice because of the talks John and I had. People were drunk, talking loud, acting rediculous. Just showed us more that we don't need to do that, we don't want to do that.
-Celebrated midnight.
-Two tickets for 3 hour parking, can that even happen? Yea, lame.

Thursday: John's Birthday
-After a loooong day of walking and being out (10:32am train there, 11:30pm train home, got in at 12:20am), Hurricane Harbor. Not too crowded. I guess a guy had a heart attack there and died in the wave pool while we were there.
-Lunch at Angelo's. mmmm.
-My first ATM usage. Yay!
-We bought a whale stuffed animal to be Jeff.
-It was a nice pseudo-vacation.
-Batman Begins with Andrea and Tony. Struck some chords with me. It was really scary. But really good movie.
-Lotto.
-Sore muscles and we could barely walk, so..
The End.

Happy Birthday John.
