hi.
i really like these new songs me and spike are writing, i just wish the words came as easily as the music. i think im striving too hard to find the perfect fit, i should just let it come.
saw modest mouse again the other night.
i think it was the 6th time, but the first in over a year.
i was curious to see what the shows would be like now, after their recent humoungous growth in popularity.
as soon as they came on stage there was a huge roar from the crowd that i was not prepared for. i was almost uncomfortable, thinking that the band had become something completley different
but then they started playing, and i realized issac is the same really strange performer, and eric judy still busts out the most amazing simple basslines. plus the Jeremiah was back playing with them, which makes me excited for the next album.
i know i shouldnt be thinking about that, lord knows how long it will take. had to wait so long for this last one.
anyways, they played a good set, (not in the right order): paper thin walls, interstate 8, cowboy dan/devils workday, world at large, wild pack of family dogs, blame it on the tetons(which he said he'd never played before live), never ending math equation, the view, ocean breathes salty, bukowski, third planet, black cadillacs, float on finally saw them play Doin the Cockroach, and finally could sing along to the new songs. i must say it was pretty powerful to hear the whole crowd chanting during the ending to Float On "...even if things get heavy.."
overall, modest mouse is my favorite band of all time, and i will never love music in the same awe-inspiring way that i love theirs.
so now i will go to bed
ive got a headache from screaming over me an spikes guitars, and im not sure if i work at 8 tomorrow morning or not so i have to get up anyways and check.
P.S. depression is still going strong, and with my just-now decision to quit smoking herb for awhile, it seems that it will last a few weeks longer.
