All three parts of my recent interview with Alan Moore are now online at the
Forbidden Planet International Blog.
Part OnePart TwoPart Three It was two hours on the phone, which typed up to just under fifteen thousand words long, and was twenty-seven pages long. It makes me tired just thinking about it! If you were following my
Twitter at the time, you'll have seen me tweeting about my slow progress through it.
Next up, there's an interview with Dave McKean waiting on my editor's desk at the FPI Blog, I'm just getting to the end of one with Gary Lloyd, and I've just started interviews with Eddic Campbell, Bryan Talbot, Rick Veitch, and Leah Moore & John Reppion, all likely to be long, career-spanning pieces. There'll also be shorter interviews with
mizkit/CE Murphy and
rainboworchid/Garen Ewing ahead of publication of Catie's Take a Chance GN and the first volume of Garen's Rainbow Orchid, respectively. I've also spoken to Al Davison about doing something. There are lots of other I'd be keen to interview as well, of course, but this lot'll certainly keep me going until the end of the year, I imagine.
While the interview with Alan took two hours on the phone, the interview with Dave McKean eventually took six months by email. This is probably the extreme with these things, as he really is very busy, as any of you who follow his
Twitter will have seen. There were long gaps on both sides, which is one of the real benefits of doing an email interview; if there's no time constraint, you can literally take as long as you need to to do it.
