I've finally finished the last read-through and edit of my recent interview with Alan Moore, which ended up a hefty twenty seven pages (that's in 12 point Times New Roman), and send it off to Joe Gordon, my editor at the Forbidden Planet International blog, who is presumably going to cut it down into either two halves, or three thirds, and post it up that way.
The interview with Alan was done by phone, lasted two hours, and took most of my spare time over the last three weeks to type up. It's much easier to do interviews by email, a bit at a time, but of course Alan doesn't have email, so I'm more than happy to do it the long way. Anyway, you get a completely different kind of interview by phone, more immediate in some ways, although the opportunity to ask about something you only remember several days later is of course no there.
I am doing a few more interviews by email, as it turns out. I've two on the go at the moment, with Dave McKean and Gary Lloyd, and I'm also due to start three more soon, with Rick Veitch, Eddie Campbell, and Bryan Talbot. Really, I'm ridiculously happy to be able to do this, and particularly happy that people seem to think that I'm doing it well, and are prepared to allow me to ask them the kind of questions I've always wanted to ask them.
