Studying parts of the vagina in a physiological sense is just weird. I don't even want to know what I do in lab today.
Anyways; Hello new people on my friendslist! If you're here via the
pokedressing friending meme, or maybe just added me but still know nothing about me- let's have a summary post!
... okay is everyone who doesn't care gone? Awesome.
Nice to meet you, everyone! My name is Sarah. I'm 20 years old, and I'm a Secondary Education: Biology major at the University of Nevada, Reno. I also dabble in Journalism courses because, to be honest, Education courses are a drag and I'd go crazy with just them.
I was born in Minnesota, and often make remarks about the passive-aggressive nature of people form Minnesota (
relares knows what I mean). I live in a dorm on-campus for school, and live in Las Vegas, Nevada during breaks. I love my parents very much, and often wonder if I am freakish for glossing over most of the "I HATE YOU" phases of teenagerdom. I have two older brothers, and two older sisters. All of them are married, three of them have children. So I drown in my seven nieces and nephews, and I love every second of it because my maternal instinct is- in layman's terms- huge.
I usually update my journal about stuff going on in real life. But, then again, I usually just vent/discuss any of those with people over AIM. Stuff that makes it to the journal is either heavily pre-decided or makes it up because no one is online and I absolutely must share the story. Some of these stories are based around my Anatomy and Physiology course, specifically the lab. It involves me digging my hands around in a cadaver, so I'll usually put those behind cuts for politeness' sake. I will occasionally update with memes or fandom stuff- but usually I'm a ways behind the rest of the fandom so it feels weird posting my shocked reaction to Homestuck Acts 1, 2, or 3 when everyone else is so far beyond it.
For stuff I like:
I have a passion for science. Otherwise, who the hell would want to teach it and subject themselves to... well, to being a teacher in the U.S.A? My particular focuses of nerding are anatomy (because I'm in the course currently), and creatures in desert ecosystems (because of my volunteer position). Sometimes my passion for science interferes with pretendy fun times- in that something must make general scientific sense or be ridiculous enough to be passed ("MPreg? BUT HOW WOULD IT WORK. Let's just say magic made one a girl and work through those gender issues.").
With regards to the above, I love building AUs, strange new worlds, and generally dicking around daydreaming. I don't doodle or write as much as I used to, but daydreaming has never gotten shafted. Lots of these never make it to paper/icons/RP account (which is probably for the best), but I love dreaming them up and working them out with people. Pitch an idea and I will want to work out every little kink of the world.
I like making icons! But I'm really bad at just... making them. I have to be making them for a specific account, or a specific character set. Beyond that, I'll see cute stuff but it rarely gets to "I must icon that." That said, I am really easy to influence. "Man it would be really cool if that were colored." "OKAY."
I love comedy, whether it's structured sitcoms, skit shows, stand-up, or improv. The biggest downside of the dorms is that I don't have cable and can't have Comedy Central on. Thankfully, I can always watch The Daily Show/The Colbert Report online (30 Rock too).
And now I'm running out of steam talking about myself... I hope that gives you a good idea of what to expect on my journal, as rarely as it updates!
As a reward for getting through that, my rarely given out AIM screen name: too dang classy
i mean i know a lot of you know it already
from chat or from me bugging you
... but if you don't that is there!!
