a serious post...

Halfway through the year, gotta lay down a bit of what I've accomplished...

Worked the pedicab job strenuously through the winter of last year and this year. It was certainly not easy, but it paid the bills. I do have to say, I have a better outlook on my health and the shape I'm in right now. The busy season is here, and I have a bit of money to make. I have a bit of a snag going on at the moment and might have to change companies (where I'm renting my bicycle rickshaw out of), but hopefully I will persevere and continue to have a successful summer. Had scary thoughts about being unemployed a little today, but I'm really not that lazy anymore and I plan on following through to get the job done.

Started smoking cigarettes lately, and it seems to really take the edge off my stress but I KNOW it's not healthy for me. What I'm thinking about doing is purchasing an electronic cigarette because those things are frigging cool, and it won't give me lung cancer ^_^. Another thing that's not really helping is that I started smoking pot again. The only time I ever *actually* smoke it is before going to bed, because it calms me down, and I can go to sleep feeling relaxed. Honestly, this is a wakeup signal to start eating healthier and have a regular according sleep schedule. I've been trying to cut down on going to bed at 2-3 in the morning and at the same time, wake up WAY earlier.

Was talking about going back to school this next fall quarter, but that's probably not going to happen because of financial funding. Can't find anyone or any grants yet, BUT I have an idea of where and what I'd like to get done. I've decided that history is a great major for me. I enjoy learning facts about the past, and feel like I would enjoy archiving certain artifacts of where we are as the human race, etc etc etc. Plus, it reflects well when I'm giving tours on my pedicab down on the waterfront.

An extra bonus is that I've been really picking up my guitar lately again. I have it downtuned REALLY low now (drop A/ B-standard), and it makes for a really nice crunch distortion noise. Basically I have a baritone guitar now, lol. One of these days, I want to start up a band and play some good shows. I think I have what it takes to play a good show.

So yeah. I'm actually in a better place from where I was earlier this year. I live on my own and actually support myself now. The real world is a hard place to adapt to, but in the end I know it will pay off. I just have to continue working hard and not being lazy, and THEN I can enjoy the finer things in life. There is still time, even at my age of 28.
