Today is the last day in office for Bush! Who wants to go out and celebrate tonight? I do!
My fridge still holds the "defend america, defeat bush" bumper sticker that ruffled a few people while posted on my door in the dorms...and well...apparently we had to wait that one out.
His farewell address was atrocious. It omitted the one word I longed to hear, a simple "sorry". Instead his smart-assery continued "You may not agree with some of the tough decions I made. But I hope you will agree I was willing to make the tough decisions." Great job mister president, you can make the same wrong decisions despite opposition on a mass scale.
He even had the audacity to say that he "followed his conscience and did what he thought was right". He spoke of his moral clarity, and the presence of good and evil. Because God's behind his slaughter, not that of the infidels, er, whoops...I mean... non-americans...wait wait...I mean terrorists. Yeah, those.
...on the final day of Bush's presidency I will say there has been one good thing he has done... He was so ridiculously bad at his job that middle and lower class America are now interested in political affairs. He was so embarassing that he influenced a turn around in voter decline. He was so awful that now there are multiple politically based news shows on a comedy network...because if you don't wanna cry, you better laugh. He was so rotten that the republic party was marred and democrats scored a majority of votes in many elections. And of course, because he was so terrible that white majority simple minded America actually managed to hire a black man with the tagline of "hope" since 8 years later we were completely out.
Good riddance you sorry waste of space. May the families of the thousands you killed not rip you into tiny pieces when your security reduces.
